What this is
The Hello Kitty Lawsuit Tracker is a noncommercial fan, parody, and commentary project about the legal life of Sanrio: the lawsuits it filed and faced, one real criminal case that borrowed a character’s name, the economy built on its characters, the rankings, the history, and the controversies. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Sanrio Co., Ltd.
Real vs. in-universe
Every entry carries a tag. Real means it summarizes public records and reporting. We cite sources, and where a court detail is not public we write not public instead of guessing. We do not invent firm names, docket numbers, attorneys, or figures for real matters.
In-universe means it is fiction, written for fun. The featured My Melody case, Kuromi’s criminal record, and the Tuxedo Sam matter are invented. Where invented stories sit next to real facts, we say so on the page.
Imagery
Illustrations here are generated with an image model in a single house style, an antique legal engraving on manila paper. They are original or transformed for commentary and do not reproduce official Sanrio artwork. Characters are drawn as our own versions.
Corrections
This is a hobby archive and it will contain mistakes. None of it is legal advice. If you find an error in a real case, the clerk’s window is open.
